Top Ten Tuesday ︱ Places Mentioned In Books That I’d Like to Visit

Top Ten Tuesday was created by The Broke and the Bookish in June of 2010 and was moved to That Artsy Reader Girl in January of 2018. This week’s topic is places mentioned in books that I’d like to visit. I think this is an awesome topic for today, it is fun for me to think of the places that I’ve imagined while reading. So below are a list of places that I’d love to visit, even if some are not “real”.

  1. Hogwarts, Diagon Alley and Hogsmeade- The Harry Potter Series
  2. Washington State – The Twilight Series/After
  3. Outer Banks (Rodanthe) – Nights in Rodanthe
  4. Narnia – The Chronicles of Narnia Series
  5. Cousins Beach – The Summer I Turned Pretty Series
  6. Hertfordshire and Derbyshire in England – Pride and Prejudice
  7. The Isolated Island – Lord Of The Flies
  8. The Hundred Acer Woods – The Adventures of Winnie The Pooh
  9. New Orleans – Moonlight & Whiskey
  10. Brandeis University – Tuesdays with Morrie

Where do you want to go?

Aw, the Hundred Acre Woods, for sure! Hanging out with Pooh, having adventures with the whole gang, then having a smackeral of honey and a nap… I’m there! 🙂

Most of the books I’ve read have been harrowing stories, with places that are either so transient, or ill described that they’re not really places one would look forward to visiting. One such place is the vacuum of space, or typhoid and measles ridden Victorian France.

But out of all the books I’ve read, I believe I’d love to visit Middle Earth the most. After the War of The Ring, preferably. 😀 With it’s varied locations and biomes, it’s varied peoples and races. The free practice of magic and seemingly abundance of resources, it seems like a very livable place. Albeit, not as woman friendly as I would like, I’m sure finding a commune to live out a peaceful existence wouldn’t be too difficult. 🙂

Sounds like a great place to go with the different races and peoples that would be there, but I am not sure how willing I would be to visit there. For some reason I can’t picture how it would look after the war 🙂
